Located in New York Harbor, she's the universal symbol of freedom. Each spike on her crown represents the seven oceans & continents of the world. She holds a torch & a tablet inscribed "July 4, 1776" the date of the American Declaration of Independence.
The robed female figure represents Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom.
This beautiful landmark statue is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
